Transfer

Transfer Admission

Admittance to Texas State is based on the applicant's overall academic record. Admission requirements for transfer students are outlined below. A non-refundable application fee of $40 prior to Spring 2009, $60 starting in Spring 2009 is required unless the student qualifies for an exemption.

Texas State University-San Marcos requires that transfer applicants (for any semester: summer, fall or spring) be eligible for admission at the time the application is submitted. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions expects transfer applicants to have 30 hours or more of transferable credit AND meet the 2.25 GPA requirements prior to the deadline of the semester for which they are applying. If you are applying for any major within the McCoy College of Business Administration or the Department of Communication Design, other admission requirements apply. Click here for more information.

* Example: Coursework taken in the fall will NOT be considered in the admission decision for the spring. Fall grades will not have been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to the Dec. 1 spring deadline.
