Transfer Admission Procedures

To apply for undergraduate admission to Texas State you should carefully read the information below. Although not required, it is strongly recommended that you visit Texas State during the college search process.

Transfer Procedures

To be considered for admission, transfer applicants (30+ college credits) must have completed and submitted the following documentation to the Texas State Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the assigned deadline. Click here for admission standards.

  1. ApplyTexas application:
    For help with the application, refer to the "official" application instructions found within the cover pages of the ApplyTexas application. Click here to apply online. For additional guidance, please refer to the Texas State Information Sheet which is included with every ApplyTexas application.

  2. Official College Transcript(s):
    Texas State requires official college transcripts from all institutions previously attended.
    Please Note: Texas State is NOT responsible for contacting your previous college(s) to request an official transcript(s). You are expected to contact the college(s) to request that your official transcript(s) be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This should be done early to ensure the transcript is received in our office by the deadline.

  3. Non-refundable $60 (US) Application Fee:
    Some waivers exist.

University Housing Policy: In support of the educational mission of the university and the value of on-campus life to the academic success of most students, all unmarried students under 21 years of age who have completed fewer than (52) credit hours must reside in university housing. Students are required to sign a room and board contract that is binding for the full academic year or summer terms. Exceptions may be granted if a student lives at a parent's or legal guardian's permanent home within a sixty-mile radius from Texas State.
