Former Students

Any student who has been away from the university for 12 consecutive months or more and wishes to return is considered a former student. All former students must reapply in order to return to Texas State. Please follow these procedures to be considered for re-admission:

  • Submit the ApplyTexas application for admission, non-refundable application fee of $10 prior to Spring 2009, $25 starting in Spring 2009 and required transcripts prior to the start of classes for the semester of desired enrollment.
  • Submit official transcripts from every institution attended since last enrolling at Texas State. Former students who have taken 30 or more transferable hours since last enrolling at Texas State must have a minimum 2.25 GPA in that work.
  • Attest to the fact that no suspensions, withdrawals, or dismissals affect your eligibility to return to all previously attended institutions.

Former Texas State students who are members of the U.S. Armed Forces or National Guard who withdrew from school as a result of a call to active duty are eligible to re-enroll without paying the readmission fee or completing a reapplication if the student returns to Texas State within a year of being released from active duty.  Please submit the Returning Military Information form or contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to have your status reactivated.

A student who leaves Texas State due to academic suspension will return on probation after complying with the suspension requirements and meeting the readmission criteria outlined above.

To access class schedule information for the semester in which you wish to enroll, contact the Registrar’s Office.
