Parent Resource Page

Sending a child off to college can be both emotionally and financially taxing. Whether you're a first-time college parent, or have done this before, there's much to think about both for your student and for yourself.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission strives to enroll students who are academically and socially prepared for the rigors of college life. Please see the information below for more on college preparatory resources.

Financing Your Child's Education

Begin by sharing the Federal Student Financial Aid options with your child. Encourage them to research financial aid resources at Student College Loan.

Financial aid is available in the form of scholarships, part-time employment, loans, and grants. To apply for federal aid, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Texas State's priority date for financial aid consideration is April 1 of the senior year. Please visit Texas State's financial aid office here.
