Favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus would have to be any spot near Old Main because of the surrounding buildings' classic feel and wooded atmosphere, or by the ponds in front of the J. C. Kellam Administration building because of the calming water fountains in the middle of the ponds and all of the trees

Why I became a Tour Guide: I chose Texas State University because of its picturesque campus and its size. Even though the campus seems huge it's really just spread out. I also wanted to go to a school where I wasn't just a number to my professors, but a name.

Cody

Hometown: Brenham, TX

Major: Junior

Classification: Something

Organizations: University Ambassadors, Residential College, Ducks Unlimited

Why I became a Tour Guide: I began giving tours as a University Ambassadors and realized that I really enjoyed providing assistance to prospective students in gaining knowledge about the university, and in motivating them towards their goal of a degree!!! I realize that the consideration process and applying to colleges can not only be a tedious process but can be very stressful as well. Therefore I strive to educate and provide students with the tools they need to not only simplify the process but to also make it as stress free as possible.

Favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus is the classroom. If I had to pinpoint one it would be the lecture hall in the McCoy building which houses my major in the McCoy College of Business Administration. The whole purpose of obtaining a college degree is to educate yourself in the career field you are pursuing. The classroom is the place where this knowledge is obtained, which In my opinion makes it an enjoyable place to be because I am gaining knowledge that is significantly beneficial to me.

Why I chose Texas State: Both of my parents attended Texas State making it the first and main university that I was subjected to growing up. Multiple weekend excursions and family vacations to San Marcos made me fall in love with the campus and the surrounding community. In addition to these aspects, I decided to pursue a business degree and began looking into the McCoy College of Business Administration. I found that the program had tons to offer: renowned professors; a brand new facility; and many different programs and organizations through which I could obtain hands on experience. Although I looked into other major universities there was no doubt that Texas State University was the number one college of choice for me.
