Out-of-State Visitors

As an out-of-state student, you undoubtedly have a different set of questions and concerns than those of our in-state students. While the application process, admission requirements and post-acceptance steps are nearly the same for our in-state students as for our out-of state students, this page is dedicated to providing additional information on making the most of your visit to campus.

When should I visit?

When you should visit depends entirely on what you would like to get out of your visit. Planning your trip anytime during the regular semester will provide you with the most personalized visit experience. On your personalized visit you will have the opportunity to meet with a Department Representative, an Admissions Counselor, and the Financial Aid Office. In addition to this you will be able to have lunch with a current Texas State student, and tour a Residence Hall and the Student Recreation Center. To schedule your personalized visit click the button below.

If a personalized visit doesn't fit your schedule, each semseter we have two Bobcat Days, which are general preview days. Bobcat Days include campus tours (including campus housing), information sessions about admittance and specific colleges, and chances to speak with representatives from admissions, financial aid, and housing.

Finally, if you are interested in a specific college such as business or engineering, or are a transfer student, we also have several Insight Visit Days each semester that provide information for each of those groups.

We look forward to seeing you!

How will I get there?

Fortunately, there are two major airports very near Texas State for those wanting to fly. The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (Austin, TX) and the San Antonio International Airport (San Antonio, TX). Both  airports have rental car companies on site. Click here for a list of the rental companies at Austin-Bergstrom, or click here for a list from San Antonio.
