Freshman NSO

At Texas State, we are excited to welcome over 9,000 new Bobcats each year at New Student Orientation (NSO). We encourage you to register for an NSO session as early as possible, since seats fill up quickly.

NSO Sign-up

Freshman Orientation sessions are for future or recent high school graduates who are starting at Texas State the semester after graduation or previous high school graduates who have not taken any classes at a college or university since graduating.

Cat Camp

Cat Camp, Texas State's pride and traditions camp, is an optional experience for incoming fall students who want to dive in to their lives as a Bobcat. At Cat Camp, students will learn about the history and traditions of Texas State while getting to meet fellow incoming students. Cat Camp does not replace New Student Orientation or Bobcat Preview.
