Freshman NSO

At Texas State, we are excited to welcome over 9,000 new Bobcats each year at New Student Orientation (NSO). We encourage you to sign up for an NSO session as early as possible.

In order to best serve our incoming students during these uncertain times, we are moving all New Student Orientation (NSO) programs ONLINE.

Additional information about the new online format is provided below.

What to Expect

Online New Student Orientation (NSO) is starting earlier than on-campus NSO would have, and will consist of a series of online modules designed to prepare incoming freshmen for success as students at Texas State.

Infographic with text: BEGIN NSO with presentations that will help make you a successful student at Texas State, LEARN about academic advising, course registration and your class schedule, EXPLORE student resources at Texas State, CONNECT with Orientation Leaders and other incoming students, and SHARE these resources with family.

Students who are signed up for NSO will be notified by email when the first two required modules become available in early May. These modules will include essential information and an opportunity to meet with an Academic Advisor about what courses will need to be taken.
