What do you like best about San Marcos?

San Marcos is a city that doesn’t feel over crowded. It has a relaxing vibe, and you can get to places without worrying about traffic!

How would you describe the atmosphere at Texas State?

I would describe the atmosphere at Texas State as encouraging. When I arrived on campus, there was an abundant amount of people that cared about me and my success. From academic advisors to teachers and counselors, when I would get down on myself, they found ways to encourage me to keep on pushing through.

Why did you choose to become an admissions counselor?

My four years as a student at Texas State were some of the best years of my life. I developed so much as a person. I learned so much by being involved in different things on campus, such as the Student Managed Investment Fund, Honors College and Texas State's film department. Those experiences helped make me the person I am today. After graduating, I wanted to come back to Texas State and work for the University. I was given an opportunity to be an admissions recruiter and I absolutely loved it. Now I am officially an admissions counselor and I am happy to be back at Texas State!
