What are three things you love about the university?

The atmosphere: Working hard, striving for excellence and relaxing with friends. Texas State is the place to wholeheartedly dive into your passions and enjoy what the journey has to offer. Studying on the riverbank and recruiting throughout the quad, our students live and learn in a cooperative, engaging atmosphere.

The students: Finding your place and setting up shop. Everyone finds their circle here but also opens their minds to discover new ideas, cultures and viewpoints. Working with others on projects and discovering common ground, bobcats learn a little something from each other.

The faculty: Illustrating what it’s like to be an academic in a pioneering climate. Texas State is home to some of the best minds to teach, research, and most importantly, guide students to their next successful chapter. Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom, our faculty keep up with the trends, find innovative ways to teach and always have time to meet with students.

What is your favorite tradition at Texas State?

I love Spirit Fridays!  It’s amazing to see all the maroon and gold pride from students, faculty and staff every Friday! Eat ‘em up, Cats!

What advice do you have for future students?

“Life is like a camera. Focus on what’s important. Capture the good times.  And if things don’t work out, just take another shot.”
- Ziad K. Abdelnour

Enjoy this time but remember to work hard not only for this chapter, but those that will follow.
