Why did you choose to become an admissions counselor?

As a First-Gen student, I know first-hand how confusing and difficult the college process can be, and I wished that I had help to guide me on my process. From my experience as a student worker, I saw the difference I could make for my peers and I developed a love for student support. By the time I graduated, I found it hard to say goodbye to helping Bobcats and wanted to continue doing it. Lucky for me, the opportunity to become an admissions counselor crossed my path and we have been together ever since.

What do you like best about San Marcos?

I love how close campus is to downtown! There are so many coffee shops, stores, and places to eat that you're bound to find the spot for you. From Manske Rolls to crystal shops, downtown San Marcos is the place to be.

What are three things you love about Texas State?

My first love at Texas State was the river, with the beautiful wild rice and its year-long water temperature of 72 degrees.

Second would be the Honors College's Multicultural Lounge. Located on the second floor of Lampasas Hall, the lounge gives you an amazing view of Old Main and feels like a hidden garden.

Last, but not least, as a city girl I love the wildlife. I get to see hundreds of Bobcats everyday!
