For all 2022 terms, Texas State University will not require SAT or ACT test scores for students ranked in the top 75% of their high school classes for admission to the university, application to the Honors College, or for consideration for Assured and Competitive Scholarships. You are a freshman applicant if you plan to attend Texas State the semester after your high school graduation (not including summer), regardless of how many dual credit or transferable college credits you’ve earned.

- Fill out the online application at either ApplyTexas or Coalition for College
Complete an essay (optional)
Send your high school transcript (mail, email or electronic service)
Pay the application fee (fee waivers are available to students who qualify)
Send official college transcripts (if applicable)
Send your SAT or ACT scores (not required for 2022)

You are a transfer applicant if you have earned transferable credit hours from a college or university and have been out of high school for at least one semester (not including summer).
You are an international applicant if you’re coming to Texas State from a country outside the United States. You’re a freshman applicant if you plan to attend Texas State the semester after your high school graduation (not including summer). You’re a transfer applicant if you have completed transferable credit hours after graduating from high school.

Texas State’s Annual Security Reports and Fire Safety Report
We value the safety of all members of the Texas State University community at both our main campus in San Marcos, TX and separate campus in Round Rock, TX. Texas State publishes a combined Annual Security and Fire Safety Report that provides crime and fire statistics for the last three years, policy statements regarding various crime and fire safety and security measures, and descriptions of campus safety awareness and prevention programs.
