Transfer NSO

At Texas State, we are excited to welcome over 9,000 new Bobcats each year at New Student Orientation (NSO). We encourage you to register for an NSO session as early as possible, since seats fill up quickly.

Transfer Orientation is for incoming students who have completed transferable course work at another college or university and have been out of high school for at least one semester (not including summer). We look at the number of transferable credit hours that have been completed at the time of application to Texas State.

What types of NSO are available?

On-Campus (1-11 Transferable Hours)

Students who have completed 1-11 transferable hours after high school graduation are required to attend an on-campus orientation session.

Online Orientation and On-Campus Advising (12+ Transferable Hours)

Transfer students with 12 or more transferable hours completed since high school are permitted to complete orientation online. While most students choose the online option, you may choose to attend an on-campus orientation session, if you prefer. Students who select this option will complete the online orientation module and then schedule an on-campus appointment with their respective academic advisor.
